A cold day here in central NC, but at least one trail was finely open after the constant rain we have been getting. Not to worry though.... it should rain all day tomorrow... :(

Went and picked up the Christmas tree with the family in the morning. It was a ton of fun, and everyone enjoyed it. Put the tree up in the house (just standing up, not lights or anything), and then got ready to go for a ride.

Took the single speed Superfly over to the LCCP to put in some loops there and at the joining Umstead State Park. Not great fun, but open and rideable.

Dropped the basal rate to a 55% reduction about 13:15 and was out on the bike just about 60 mins later. I tested my BG right before pedaling away, and it was 92. I decided to lower my basal rate another 10%, and that worked out perfectly.

Had a fun ride, and ran into some friends I hadn't seen in a while. Especially stoked to ride with Dave for about 20 mins as he headed home. Also saw my old Top Fuel 69er along the way. Very happy to be out and pedaling today.

Had enough time to squeeze in about 2.5hrs and I was back at the car right before 17:00. Basal rate back to normal and BG at a crisp 119. Perfection!!

I stayed at the usual fuelling 40g of carbs along with 20oz of water with Nuun per hour.

Man it felt great to ride the Single Speed and to get out for a while. Riding has been spotty at best with the weather and some of the personal stuff we have going on. Thank goodness its the offseason... :)

Been eyeing this up as the opener for the 2010 season.... Pisgah 36

Could be cool... or not. :)
